Training Report - 8/2/08

By Alan_Noonan_#10
They had a shortish session today in some fairly decent rain.

Modified group : OUT Gumbleton, Neagle (main group), Winderlich (hardly doing anything at all, and I suspect he’s doubtful for the start of the season. From all accounts, he’s got back problems which would explain his hamstring problems).

So we’re down to 5 players who aren’t training with the full group, although Neagle may have not completed the full session. Don’t hold me to that.

Lots of the usual drills, all pretty sharp.

Had a look at Hooker’s kicking after a couple of Kepleresque comparisons last week, but he’s fine. Maybe his kicking on the run could do with some polish.

Tried to watch Pears’ long kicking too, but only had one opportunity and in that one shot, I saw Mink’s point. He probably could do with modifying his action a little. He looks as if he needs to kick with a longer action….but that was just what I saw this morning…on one kick. And having done mathematical statistics at uni, that’s hardly a good sample size.

Rama went well, he’s fine, and he’s completed every session I’ve seen.

One thing I’ve noticed is that far fewer players leave the track early, than when I used to watch training regularly 4 years ago. Although Lloydy did go off a little early today. Doubt there was much wrong with him though, he didn’t seem to be inconvenienced.

Ran into Koala, Josh’s Mum, sandbelt, Graeme (HH’s dad) and Bender. Small attendance today with the Relay for Life starting this evening.
