THAT’S HOW YOU PLAY FOOTBALL, I am talking about last weeks game vs. Carlton. Its was good hard football and with contested marking contests with KEY POSITION PLAYERS…..This is how football is supposed to played, non of this Chip Chip WOODCHIP tun it into Paper, ala Sydney
THE MESSIAH IS COMING
“FOR HE AWAKES FROM HIS SLUMBER TO GATHER HIS STRENGTH WITH IIV MAJORS FOR THE SECOND COMING OF THE APOCOLYPSE. HE WHO DOUBTS THEE SHALL BE CURSED UPON THE ALTER OF THE FOUR DISCIPLES OF THE MESSIAH”

Key Match Ups
McPhee vs. REVOLT – Big NICK came back to football last with a BANG of 4 goals and will be looking for some more blood this week as he tries to lift his Saints into a Final’s path. McPhee is the man for Revolt, he did a wonderful job on his last year when we had no Fletcher and Smokey has the pace, strength to match it head to head with Revolt and can also mark, run and play off him…. this will free Fletcher up to play a more loose role across half back.
McVeigh vs. Gram – The man to stop is the GRAM, he provides so much run and drive for them across half back and in fact is a better fit across there than Aussies Jones was and more damaging through the lines. This will be the job for the Super Stopper, Spike! Who also showed last week that he can kick a few sausage rolls as well as hold rebounding defenders in close check. This is the match up which will win/lose the game IMHO
Lucas vs. S.Fisher – The inform Forward of the Comp vs. the inform Defender of the Comp. Fisher with no Goose or Hudghton has had to shoulder the load of the Key Forward and has done so with great nerve and also rebounded off them….he would have some Charlie votes for sure as would his opponent in the Red Corner weighing in at 95 kilo’s.. Scooootttttyy Luuuuuuuuuuccccccccaaaaaaaasssssssssss BHP is in red hot form and with a less than near full strength defence of the Saints he should be licking his chops as he should huff and puff and kick the house down….
The X Factor
Tackling, Tackling and Tackling….in the first 3 rounds St Kilda have shown a pressure and aggression for tackling only Ross Lyon could bring, and Essendon likewise with their pressure and tackling…. The other factor will be Jetta and Davey… the Saints do not have any speedsters in their side and they rely on pressure and excellent ball movement, could Jetta and Davey cause some headaches for the Saints up and around their defence 50…I think so…
The Y Factor
Our Ruck work, Hille has been out of form and really has not stamped his authority on any game at all. He hasn’t been shocking but he has been nowhere to be seen. He did okay against Adelaide but they only had Hudson who came off a Knee Reco and a Rookie to compete against, then he went up against Lurch which is always a hard task and last week even the Ginger Kid got the better of him and Laycock…. We need to win more ruck work around the ground if we are to continue competing for wins.
All in all, this is another one of those games that we are not expected to win, but we HAVE to win if we are to continue improving.
It will be tough, rough… but will it be free flowing contested football like we saw last week… this will show the real Ross Lyon game plan and will also expose the Sheedy plan and where its at because there is one way to beat congested/hard tackling football….with hard tackling, open free football
