Training Report - 2/4/08

Actually the wind out there was nowhere near as bad as what I encountered in my journeys there and back.

It was a bit hard to gauge who was out there to start with, because there were groups of 5 or 6 guys running on and off the ground at regular intervals. They were clearly doing some exercise in the rooms because we could hear the shouting under the Reynolds Stand.

Didn’t see Gumbleton, Lovett-Murray, Dempsey (all known injuries) or Houli at all. Lucas walked a few laps. Dyson, Welsh and Hislop all worked away from the main group, but I’m assured that Ricky was just being given a rest (forgot to ask about Bachar) and Woosha should be OK. Hislop was running and has a big brace on his left wrist. Myers, Willams and Daniher worked with the main group. Anybody else I haven’t expressly mentioned worked with the main group and looked fine….and that means both Hocking and Johns trained although Heath came out late. Maybe I missed the first part of the session, as I got there around the appointed start time of 2.30 and it seemed they’d been going a while.

They didn’t do much kicking while I was there, but some of the coaches were trying and the ball was going everywhere.

Worked a lot on tackling, and avoiding the tackles, and the usual keepings-off sort of stuff. Hard to assess how the whole session went. There seemed to be plenty of enthusiasm, but not as much as last week.
