Essendon skipper Matthew Lloyd has added the 2008 AFL Mark of the Year Award to go with his 2007 AFL Goal of the Year.
Lloyd’s mark against Melbourne in Round 18 was judged the seasons best by the All-Australian selection panel.
“It’s a great honour to win this award and I want to thank the fans and All-Australian selectors for voting for me. Taking that mark was a big thrill for me and to win this great prize is icing on the cake,” Lloyd said. “Importantly, my junior club Avondale Heights gets to share in this award and I am proud that I have been able to help them.”
