BomberBlitz.com Exclusive Interview - Tim Watson

BomberBlitz: $25, an Adidas football bag, an Essendon Football Club towel, and a pair of club socks. How could you ever refuse?
Tim Watson: chuckles how did you find out about that? But it’s all true, except for the money, there wasn’t any money involved. But that’s what they brought up to Dimboola that day, in 1977 – Barry Keam, Kevin Egan and Ted Fordham.
BB: Having grown up a Richmond supporter, were you actually hoping to be drafted by them?
TW: No, because my brother Larry had already gone to Essendon, so the family had pretty much changed their allegiance to Essendon by then.

BomberBlitz: For those that aren’t aware, talk us through your journey so far!
Nathan Lovett-Murray – As a junior I started playing in Heywood, in Western Victoria. From there I went on to join under 18’s for North Ballarat in the TAC cup, which meant having to travel twice a week to Ballarat. Then Richmond asked me to try out for their rookie list

BomberBlitz.com Exclusive Interview - Paul Salmon

BomberBlitz – Tell us all about it Fish! Which little pond did you actually start swimming in?
Paul Salmon – Started playing at Our Ladies Primary School, in Ringwood, as a 9 year old, which was lucky, because my three older brothers had to wait until they were 10, so I was special! grins From there, went to North Ringwood, and at 15 I headed for the under 19’s at Essendon.
BB – 15! That was young!
PS – I was already 6 ft 7, but quite light, so wasn’t ready for seniors – under 19’s was a good way to start.

BomberBlitz.com Exclusive Interview - Emma Quayle

BomberBlitz – How did you get to be an Essendon supporter? Was it inherited or just good judgement and taste on your part?
Emma Quayle – I never had a say in the matter…. I’m not sure how much of this is family legend, but the story goes that after moving to Melbourne from England after the war, my grandpa was living in a flat in St Kilda. He wondered what all the noise coming from the Junction Oval was about, wandered down there one weekend, saw John Coleman play and became a Bomber there and then. He got my mum into it and she started taking me with her when I was eight or nine. We got our hands on some seats in the Dick Reynolds stand and I used to sit up there reading books, in the beginning, because the games seemed to go on forever. But it didn’t take long…..
